Professional Packaging EPR: turning a regulatory obligation into a competitive advantage for your company
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for professional packaging is being operationally structured for B2B companies.
The decree establishing this sector has been published and, even though certain implementing texts (scope, specifications, approvals) are still being finalized, the timeline is now clear:
the legal obligations will become fully applicable from July 1, 2026 for most of the companies concerned.
This EPR replaces and expands the previous food service EPR to include all professional packaging — sales, grouping, and transport packaging, including industrial and commercial.
At CRISTAL DECISIONS, we believe that this EPR is not just a regulatory constraint, but a strategic opportunity for companies that prepare for it effectively:
Secure your regulatory compliance
• Clarify your EPR “producer” status
• Prepare to join an approved eco-organization as soon as approvals are published
• Structure your packaging data to meet the reporting and traceability requirements that will be required from the first reporting period
Create value through your packaging management
• Integrate reuse and eco-design into your specifications
• Optimize your flows and costs with a total cost of ownership approach
• Strengthen your CSR performance by anticipating bonuses/penalties linked to environmental criteria
